History

An avid runner (56 miles per week), with a passion for health and fitness, her battle had just begun. In 2009, Patrice developed blood clots in both her legs (DVT - Deep Vein Thrombosis), which then broke off and traveled to her right lung (PE - Pulmonary Embolisms). Pulmonary Embolisms have a very high mortality rate, causing her doctors to fear the worse. After a weeklong stay in the hospital and a permanently scarred right lung, doctors told Patrice she would never be the runner she used to be. In 4 months, Patrice gradually progressed from being immobile; unable to stand or walk without the use of a cane, to running 4 miles per day. Her current workout program includes 5 to 6 mile runs per day and vigorous strength training. After losing her 37 year old brother to obesity-related complications in March 2009, Patrice Jones became a Personal Trainer.
