History

Lynn Rutter has an MA in Environmental Education, an MA in Teaching, and a BA in Child Development. She has taught preschool, kindergarten, and 1st-3rd grade for her 30 year teaching career. She started this Home-Based child care to provide the quality care that she believes children deserve and that will create positive, life long learning results.

Specialties

Roots-n-Shoots is a Nature-Based Preschool with the mission of 'Getting Children Outside'. We offer a two or a four day program 9:00-3:00 on Monday and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. The tuition is $375 monthly for a two day program and $750 for a four day program. Frequent, unstructured childhood play in natural settings has been found to be the most common influence on the development of positive self esteem, social engagements, physical activity and life-long conservation values.
