Sandra Franz, MD

Following the completion of his B.S. in Zoology in 1987 from LSU in Baton Rouge, Dr. Gary H. Field earned his M.D. from the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1991. His medical residency in Internal Medicine was completed through the LSU Earl K. Long Medical Center in Baton Rouge, and he earned a fellowship in his specialty of Endocrinology and Metabolism from Tulane University in New Orleans. Dr. Field was an associate professor at LSU and practiced through the LSU Healthcare Network from 1996 through 2001, at which time he joined The Baton Rouge Clinic. He is certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is licensed in the state of Louisiana. A member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, Dr. Field has served as Assistant Professor at both LSU Health (formerly Earl K. Long) and Tulane University. He held an appointment as Director of Ambulatory Medical Clinics at the former Earl K. Long Medical Center.

Dr. Ricky Winburn attended Southeastern Louisiana University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He then spent 2 years teaching high school Chemistry and Physics at nearby French Settlement High School. He then decided to fulfill his dream of becoming a physician by earning his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. While in medical school Dr. Winburn fell in love with Internal Medicine because of the ability to help solve complex cases and build lifelong relationships with patients, so he completed his internship and residency at The University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile, AL. Dr. Winburn decided to come home to Louisiana to continue his career and establish his practice. Dr. Winburn is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Licensed in the state of Louisiana. In the summer of 2017, he joined the Internal Medicine department of The Baton Rouge Clinic.

A native of Baton Rouge, Dr. Wesley J. Penn attended Our Lady of the Lake College where he earned two degrees-a B.S. in Biology and a B.S. in Human Medicine. He decided to continue in the field of medicine by attending LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, receiving his M.D. in 2013. He then returned to Baton Rouge to complete an Internal Medicine Residency at LSU Health Sciences Center before joining The Baton Rouge Clinic in the summer of 2016. Dr. Wesley Penn is a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians, and he is currently licensed in the state of Louisiana. Before becoming a physician, Dr. Penn worked for several years as a graphic designer and journalist covering LSU sports. He is a die-hard fan of the LSU Tigers, the New Orleans Saints, and the Chicago Cubs. He has two girls, Violet (3) and Avary (1). In his free time, he enjoys golf, tennis, and spending time with his family. Dr. Penn is currently accepting new patients.
