Rebecca S. Treuil, MD

Dr. Shatha Y. Murad, a native of New Orleans, is one of the newest physicians at The Baton Rouge Clinic. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of New Orleans, and earned her Medical Degree from LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport in 2013. She performed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas-Southwestern, completing the program in 2016. Dr. Murad completed a Fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of Illinois-Chicago in 2018. Dr. Murad is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Board Certified in Endocrinology. She is a member of the Endocrine Society, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society. She is licensed to practice medicine in the states of Illinois and Louisiana. Returning home to Louisiana, Dr. Murad joined the Baton Rouge Clinic family of physicians in August of 2018. In addition to English, Dr. Murad also speaks Arabic fluently.

Dr. Paul S. Fitzmorris, a Metairie native, received his bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University in 2009 and his Medical Degree from the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans in 2013. Dr. Fitzmorris completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Alabama-Birmingham in 2016 and a Gastroenterology fellowship in 2019. Dr. Fitzmorris is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Louisiana. Dr. Fitzmorris is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. In August of 2019, Dr. Fitzmorris joined the Baton Rouge Clinic Gastroenterology Department.

A native of Alexandria, Dr. Sandy Franz graduated from LSU with a degree in Microbiology before heading north to attend LSU Medical School in Shreveport. After earning her Medical Degree in 1997, she pursued her love of caring for children and completed a Pediatric Residency with Brown University at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. After her residency, Dr. Franz returned home to Louisiana and has been practicing in Baton Rouge since. She is active in the pediatric community in Baton Rouge, participating in many quality initiatives centered around health care delivery to children. She enjoys working closely with the Children's Hospital as well as the Pediatric Residency program, and served as a faculty member for many years. Dr. Franz is licensed to practice in Louisiana, and joined The Baton Rouge Clinic's family of physicians in the Fall of 2017. She is currently accepting new families.
