Dana L. Gibson, M.D., is a pediatrician with Norton Children’s Medical Group – Frankfort. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Lexington, and completed his residency in pediatrics at University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital. Dr. Gibson’s goal in caring for children is to treat them as whole persons and include their families in discussions about their care to provide the maximum benefit for their growth and well-being. When he meets a patient for the first time, he likes to greet them warmly, get to know them and understand their needs. He also wants to learn the parents’ desires and wishes and make the child comfortable to develop a strong patient-physician bond. Dr. Gibson enjoys engaging children in play activities to make the medical experience comfortable and relatable, reducing any worries or fears they might have about the exam. Originally from Monticello, Kentucky, Dr. Gibson practiced in Somerset, Kentucky, for the past 30 years before moving to Frankfort to join Norton Children’s Medical Group. In his free time, he and his wife enjoy outdoor activities, gardening, raising and training therapy pets, and going to concerts.

Dr. John R. Dimar II received his medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. His residency training in orthopedics was completed through the Lutheran Hospital Orthopedic Residency Program in Fort Wayne, Indiana, followed by a six-month chief resident internship with the Leatherman Spine Center. He is active in instructing orthopedic surgeons and residents in the treatment of deformities, tumors, degenerative disease and trauma involving the spine. His particular area of interest is the treatment of cervical spine disease, degenerative spine disease and spine trauma. Dr. Dimar is actively involved with research. He has published numerous articles and book chapters on the treatment of spinal problems and has spoken widely at many national and international spine meetings. He is a member of the North American Spine Society, the Scoliosis Research Society and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery in which he has won both best clinical and research paper awards.
