In 2018, Dr. Marshall received the Plotkin Lecture in Vaccinology Award from the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society for “contributions to the field of vaccinology or areas of related science that have impacted the lives of children and the specific area of pediatric infectious diseases.” Under Dr. Marshall’s leadership, the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases has repeatedly been recognized for excellence in teaching and patient care. Dr. Marshall is a member of numerous academic societies and has served in several national leadership positions. He is credited with over 190 publications and is best known for his work in vaccine development, advocacy, and education. Dr. Marshall is the author of The Vaccine Handbook: A Practical Guide for Clinicians (also known as The Purple Book), now in its 9th edition and available through a free app for iOS devices.
