Little Jerusalem Badlands State Park

Little Jerusalem Badlands State Park, situated in Logan County, Kansas, showcases dramatic Niobrara chalk formations that provide vital habitats for numerous native wildlife species, including amphibians, reptiles, and birds such as ferruginous hawks. This unique ecological area is home to the largest population of Great Plains wild buckwheat, a native plant found nowhere else in the world, while ancient fossils of swimming and flying reptiles can also be discovered within its rugged landscapes.

Once part of the McGuire Ranch, the park allows visitors to explore a variety of trails offering scenic overlooks and breathtaking rock formations. Managed by The Nature Conservancy in partnership with the Kansas Department of Wildlife Parks, the park features two permanent hiking trails and guided tours for those wishing to access off-trail areas.
