Hospice of Salina

Founded in 1981, the Hospice of Reno County is a nonprofit, Medicare- and Medicaid-certified agency. It offers care for terminally ill patients and their families in homes and long-term care facilities. The agency provides bereavement care through memorial services, mailings, and various individual and group meetings. The Hospice of Reno County offers consulting services for pain and symptom management and wound care. The agency also provides physical, occupational and speech therapies. It offers medications related to terminal diagnosis. The agency provides dietary counseling and nursing care options. Its division, the HomeCare of Hutchinson, offers home care services and was founded in 1985. The Hospice of Reno County is located in Hutchinson, Kan.

Good Shepherd Hospice opened its first office in Oklahoma City in 1995. Inspired by a mission of providing compassionate and progressive hospice care, founder Don Greiner led a small team of dedicated staff as they grew from their first admission on February 28 to 188 patients by the end of that year. The name “Good Shepherd Hospice” was created by our company founder who was touched by a moving quote from Abraham Lincoln, “I have been driven to my knees many times by the overwhelming conviction that I have nowhere else to go.” Wanting a name that would impart a message of comfort to patients and families and encourage staff to aspire to care for patients as lovingly as possible the image of The Good Shepherd spoke to this need
