ResCare is a human service company and one of the largest providers of home care to senior citizens in the United States. It offers residential and support services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The company additionally provides education, vocational training and job placement assistance to people of all ages and skill levels. With more than 44,000 employees, ResCare serves over 65,000 people daily in nearly 35 U.S. states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C., as well as international locations, including Canada, China, Haiti, Germany and the United Kingdom. It operates Pharmacy Alternatives, which is a nonretail pharmacy that offers medications and pharmaceutical supplies to ResCare operations and other service providers. The company also manages approximately 10 residential facilities and group homes. ResCare coordinates the Job Corps program, which is administered by the Department of Labor (DOL). The program addresses unemployment problems faced by disadvantaged youths throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. It partners with Texas Hill Country School, which specializes in working with students suffering from autism, mood and psychotic disorders, and neurological and psychological problems.
