Started in 1979, Barb City Manor is a nonprofit retirement home that looks after persons 60-years-of-age or older who are in ambulatory and in good health. The center s activity coordinators organize the chapel services, social activities and arts and crafts programs. Some of the activities include game night, monthly birthday parties, crossword puzzle hour, Body Recall, ice cream social, bingo, Koffee Klatch, travelogues and craft circle projects. FRIENDS, an auxiliary of Barb City Manor, was organized in 1981 to promote the health and welfare of residents, contribute to the Resident Endowment Fund, enhance the facilities and to publicize Barb City Manor.
