Started in 1979, Barb City Manor is a nonprofit retirement home that looks after persons 60-years-of-age or older who are in ambulatory and in good health. The center s activity coordinators organize the chapel services, social activities and arts and crafts programs. Some of the activities include game night, monthly birthday parties, crossword puzzle hour, Body Recall, ice cream social, bingo, Koffee Klatch, travelogues and craft circle projects. FRIENDS, an auxiliary of Barb City Manor, was organized in 1981 to promote the health and welfare of residents, contribute to the Resident Endowment Fund, enhance the facilities and to publicize Barb City Manor. The center is located in DeKalb, Ill.

Located in Streator, Ill., Liberty Village of Streator, an assisted living community, is a part of RFMS, which is an administrative services company serving clients and organizations throughout Illinois, Iowa and Nevada. The parent company offers single family and duplex homes with fully equipped kitchens and garages. It provides lawn care, snow removal and building maintenance services. RFMS organizes a range of recreational, social and educational events. The company also offers transportation, laundry and housekeeping services. In addition, it provides assistance with a variety of daily activities, such as bathing, grooming, dressing and personal hygiene. RFMS offers dementia care, medication administration and 24-hour skilled nursing services.
