Mound City is a city located along the Ohio River in Pulaski County, Illinois, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 692. It is the county seat of Pulaski County.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.8 square miles (2.0 km²), of which, 0.7 square miles (1.8 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (6.58%) is water. The majority of the Native American burial mounds that gave this city its name have been destroyed.
