The Bonner County Historical Society Museum, founded in 1972, is a private, non-profit educational organization dedicated to collecting and preserving the significant stories of the Bonner County region. Located in Lakeview Park, the museum offers immersive exhibits that trace the history of the area from the ice age floods to the development of Sandpoint as a resort town, showcasing the early days of the Kalispel and Kootenai people, the fur trade, steamboat era, and more.

Supported by community donations, memberships, admissions, and grants, the museum operates thanks to the dedication of its volunteer Board of Directors and a team of talented staff. With a mission to connect the past to the present, the Bonner County Historical Society Museum continues to expand its collections, research, and programming to serve both local residents and visitors seeking to explore the rich history of Bonner County.
