Established in 2007, Hawai inui kea School of Hawaiian Knowledge is a pioneering institution on the Manoa campus, being the first new school since 1982 and the only college of indigenous knowledge at a Research I institution in the United States. It encompasses the Kamakakōkāni Center for Hawaiian Studies, Kawaihuelani Center for Hawaiian Language, and the Ka Papa Loʻi o Knewai Cultural Garden, focusing on the preservation and revitalization of Hawaiian knowledge and culture.
