Houston County Sheriff's Office

Houston County in Georgia was created by an act of the general assembly on May 15, 1821. Since that time the Houston County Sheriff s Office has proudly served and protected the citizens of Houston County. The county has grown to a population in excess of 115,000 and the department is responsible for more than 380 square miles. The area is the home of Robins Air Force Base, one of the largest employers in Georgia. The office has grown with the population. It is staffed with nearly 300 deputies in more than five divisions. The traffic division was formed in 1987. In 1993 it was tasked with investigating all serious injury/fatality collisions occurring in the county. In 2001 it was also given the additional assignment of investigating all hit and run collisions occurring in the county. The Houston County Sheriff s Office is located in Warner Robins, Ga.
