Jorge N. Gil, M.D., is a fellowship-trained orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care. Dr. Gils clinical interests include foot and ankle trauma surgery, revision surgery and arthroplasty. Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Gil was an orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon at the Orthopedic Center of Florida in Naples. Dr. Gil earned his medical degree and completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville. His post-doctoral training also includes an orthopedic foot and ankle fellowship at Baptist Health South Florida in Miami. Dr. Gil is actively involved in clinical research and has published his work in several scientific journals. As a member of the American Association of Latino Orthopaedic Surgeons, he strives to advance Latino musculoskeletal health. To develop an individualized plan of care, Dr. Gil focuses on his patients preferences and goals rather than objective findings such as diagnostic imaging tests. Treatment success, whether conservative or surgical, depends on meeting the patients expectations, he says. Dr. Gil is fluent in English and Spanish. Luis Rodriguez, M.D., F.A.M.S.S.M., is a primary care sports medicine physician with Baptist Health. He specializes in non-surgical treatments for acute, overuse and chronic orthopedic problems, with a special interest in sports related injuries, joint arthritis, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, ultrasound guided procedures and orthobiologics. Dr. Rodriguez received his medical degree from the Luis Razetti School of Medicine at Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas, where he was awarded five Outstanding Performance Awards during clinical rotations. He completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation Florida Program, and a Fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at UHS Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, N.Y. An academic affiliate of SUNY Upstate Medical University. He currently serves as team physician for Inter Miami C.F., the U.S. Ski Team, Miami F.C. and Florida International University and a variety of college. He is Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Primary Care Sports Medicine and is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the American College of Sports Medicine.

Juan Pretell, M.D., is a musculoskeletal oncology surgeon and the chief of musculoskeletal oncology surgery at Miami Cancer Institute. Dr. Pretell specializes in benign and malignant musculoskeletal tumors and skin cancers affecting the musculoskeletal system. He is fluent in English and Spanish.Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute in 2022, Dr. Pretell worked at University of Miami where he was an Associate Professor of Orthopedic and Faculty of the Orthopedic Surgery residency program and Musculoskeletal Oncology Fellowship. He also was the director of clinical research in the Division of Musculoskeletal Oncology Surgery.Dr. Pretell’s research has been published in high-impact national and international orthopedic and oncology journals. He has been a speaker in national and international meetings, and faculty for international Musculoskeletal Oncology courses. He is an active member of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society and fellow of the AAOS. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons.Dr. Pretell’s approach to patient care is to view patients and their families as his own family members. He is honest and open about the diagnosis and the treatment options available with the most current, evidence-based medicine. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Pretell enjoys going to arcades, cooking classes and entertainment activities with his oldest stepson and his triplets, watching movies with his oldest daughter, traveling and taking beach walks with his wife. He is also an avid World Cup soccer fan.
