Adrian Cristian, M.D., is a physiatrist and the chief of cancer rehabilitation at Miami Cancer Institute. Dr. Cristian specializes in the treatment of physical impairments affecting the neurologic, musculoskeletal and lymphatic systems of persons undergoing cancer treatment as well as cancer survivors. His professional interests include loss of muscle mass associated with cancer and cancer treatment, chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy, lymphedema and cancer related fatigue. Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute in 2018, Dr. Cristian has more than 20 years of experience in physical medicine and rehabilitation and has been in multiple leadership and academic roles. He has served as chief of rehabilitation medicine and pain medicine at the James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center in New York, service chief at the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, vice-chairman and residency program director at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, chairman of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Northwell Glen Cove Hospital and currently as chief of cancer rehabilitation Miami Cancer Institute. Dr. Cristian has held academic appointments at several medical schools in New York City, including Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Weill Cornell Medical College and Hofstra School of Medicine. He is currently a professor at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University.Along with his medical degree, Dr. Cristian holds a masters degree in healthcare management from Harvard University School of Public Health. He has authored publications and edited several books in various aspects of rehabilitation medicine, including cancer rehabilitation of the central nervous system, breast and gynecologic cancer rehabilitation, lung cancer rehabilitation, medical education in rehabilitation medicine, patient safety in rehabilitation medicine, as well as written books for the lay public on amputee care and spinal cord injury. He has lectured on several topics in rehabilitation medicine, including cancer rehabilitation, geriatric rehabilitation, patient safety and quality improvement in rehabilitation medicine both at regional and national conferences and has received awards for clinical excellence and teaching in rehabilitation medicine.Dr. Cristians approach to patient care is to design comprehensive, patient-centered treatment plans that help maximize patients independence in activities of daily living and improve their quality of life.He speaks the languages English, Romanian and Spanish.When he is not treating patients, Dr. Cristian likes to spend time with his family and friends.

Cesar Ochoa, M.D., is a medical oncologist at Miami Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health. Dr. Ochoa specializes in the treatment of lung, head and neck cancers. He is fluent in English and Spanish. Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute in 2021, Dr. Ochoa was on staff at the Billings Clinic Cancer Center, where he worked as a medical oncologist. Throughout his career, Dr. Ochoa has been involved in research focusing on the role of intrinsic and extrinsic airway inflammation in the development and growth of lung cancer. This work has had major implications in the improvement of currently available therapies to better understand lung cancer. Dr. Ochoas research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed publications, including Cancer Research, Cancer Prevention Research, Molecular Cancer, Oncoimmunology, Expert Review of Anticancer Therapy and others. He has also presented his work at multiple national and international conferences. Dr. Ochoa believes that the needs of his patients always come first. He strives to help them understand their disease, prognosis and treatment options while learning about their personal goals and what matters most to them. This way, together, they can develop a management plan that aligns with the patients values.When he is not treating patients, Dr. Ochoa enjoys reading, music, exploring the outdoors and visiting new restaurants.

Eleftheria Kalogera, M.D. M.Sc., is a gynecologic oncologist at Miami Cancer Institute. Dr. Kalogera specializes in treating gynecologic cancers, including the surgical and medical management of ovarian, uterine, cervical, vaginal and vulvar cancers. She is fluent in English, Greek, French and Spanish. Dr. Kalogera joined Miami Cancer Institute from the Mayo Clinic, where she completed her training. During her residency, Dr. Kalogera pursued a clinical investigator track, which included an additional year of training. During that time, she earned a Master of Science in Clinical and Translational Science. During her fellowship, she was named an assistant professor in obstetrics and gynecology at the Mayo Clinic. In addition to helping individual patients, Dr. Kalogera is passionate about gynecologic oncology research, with the ultimate goal of helping patients at a broader level. She has presented her research at numerous national and international conferences and has published her work in leading peer-reviewed publications, including the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the International Journal of Gynecologic Cancer. Dr. Kalogera also serves as a reviewer for many scientific publications. During her research fellowship, she, along with an expert research team, was the recipient of the prestigious Mayo Clinic Excellence Through Teamwork Award for serving as co-principal investigator in the Departmental and Multidisciplinary Quality Improvement project, Enhanced Recovery in Gynecologic Surgery. This continuing work on Enhanced Recovery After Surgery revolutionized the perioperative care model and has resulted in a major paradigm shift in the gynecologic surgical practice. Dr. Kalogera believes in a compassionate and holistic approach to cancer care, where the importance of respecting and responding to patients needs comes first as the foundation of any treatment plan.Her work as a gynecologic oncologist allows her to help patients and their families navigate a challenging and intimate period of their lives. Dr. Kalogera is honored and humbled by the special bond she shares with each woman she treats. When she is not treating patients, Dr. Kalogera enjoys spending time with her significant other and their English bulldog. They love exploring Miami and the outdoors, traveling, CrossFit, and waterskiing.
