During his residency, he was named the Andrew W. Pippas Resident in Radiation Oncology, an honor selected by the faculty for a resident who exemplifies professional and compassionate patient care.Dr. Press has extensive experience using proton therapy and other advanced radiation techniques to treat challenging tumors, including re-treatment of patients who previously received radiation therapy. He has developed numerous clinical trials and published more than 60 scientific publications.Dr. Press considers it a privilege to help people through the most challenging times of their lives. He is grateful to be able to meet people in these moments and care for them with compassion, humility and grace.In his free time, Dr. Press enjoys traveling and staying active, including hiking, running, sailing and spending time with family and friends.

Eric Douglas Schroeder, MD
Eric D. Schroeder, M.D., is a gynecologic oncologist at Miami Cancer Institute. Dr. Schroeder provides comprehensive and compassionate gynecologic cancer care, including robotic and laparoscopic surgery. His areas of focus include the surgical and medical management of ovarian, uterine, endometrial, cervical, vulvar and vaginal cancers. Dr. Schroeder and his colleagues perform thousands of robotic surgeries each year. Actively involved in research at Miami Cancer Institute, Dr. Schroeder enrolls as many eligible patients as possible in clinical trials, which helps inform and improve future treatments for gynecologic cancers. He is passionate about his work as a gynecologic oncologist because it allows him to work closely with his patients throughout each step of the treatment journey, from diagnosis to surgery to medical management. Dr. Schroeder takes a holistic approach to treating cancer, considering both the patient and her family. He formulates treatment plans for each woman’s individual needs. Dr. Schroeder also believes in giving patients and their families as much time as they need to address questions, concerns and treatment options. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Schroeder enjoys fishing, scuba diving and snow skiing with his family.
Minesh P. Mehta, MD
Minesh Mehta, M.D., is chief of radiation oncology, deputy director and the John and Mary Lou Dasburg Endowed Chair in Radiation Oncology at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute. He is a renowned expert in radiation oncology, proton therapy and cancer research. Dr. Mehta received his medical degree with highest honors from the University of Zambia School of Medicine. He completed a residency at the University of Wisconsin, where he was later appointed chairman of the medical school’s Department of Human Oncology. As part of his leadership efforts, he directed research studies, technology development and the expansion at the University of Wisconsin Cancer Center. He also headed its brain tumor program for more than 15 years, leading to his national leadership role in clinical trial research. Dr. Mehta has designed and led numerous national and international clinical studies, receiving National Institutes of Health and National Cancer Institute grants and winning honors for his research in brain and central nervous system tumors. He helped launch and was the medical director of the Maryland Proton Treatment Center in Baltimore prior to joining Baptist Health. Dr. Mehta is board certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology and in neuro-oncology by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties. He has held national leadership positions in numerous organizations including the American Board of Radiology, the FDA Radiological Devices Panel, the American Society for Radiation Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Society of Neuro-Oncology. An avid researcher, Dr. Mehta provides a multidisciplinary, innovative approach to individual care and helps all his patients understand their diagnosis, available treatment options and potential clinical trials.
