Matthew Ciminero, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon, specializing in orthopedic trauma and adult reconstruction, at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care, part of Baptist Health. During his orthopaedic surgery residency at Maimonides Medical Center, he served as the administrative chief resident and ran a COVID-19 intensive care unit during the initial peak wave of COVID in 2020.In 2022, the Orthopaedic Trauma Association asked him to join their new mental health task force to research and educate other surgeons about the psychological associations with musculoskeletal trauma. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Medical Association.Dr. Ciminero uses his Psychology background to provide holistic care for his patients beyond the physical ailment, as trauma affects everyone differently. After earning his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, Dr. Paraliticci completed both his general surgery residency and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Puerto Rico. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Paraliticci is a faculty member for Baptist Health Orthopedic Care’s Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction Fellowship program. He enjoys giving back to his community by educating the next generation of orthopedic fellows. After deciding in sixth grade that he wanted to be a surgeon, Dr. Paraliticci dedicated his life to helping people. Believing that a little positivity goes a long way, he begins every appointment with a smile. Dr. Paraliticci sees his patients as an integral part of the Baptist Health family and stays by their side through every step of their journey. He takes the time to discuss all aspects of treatment with his patients before reaching a shared decision about their care.
