Maria-Amelia Rodrigues, M.D., is a radiation oncologist at Miami Cancer Institute, a part of Baptist Health South Florida. She received her medical degree from the University of Rio de Janeiro School of Medicine in Brazil and completed an internship in internal medicine at Hospital de Clinicas Gaffree Guinle, University of Rio de Janeiro, and the Kaiser Foundation Medical Center, San Francisco. He has held national leadership positions in numerous organizations, including the American Board of Radiology, the FDA Radiological Devices Panel, the American Society for Radiation Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Society of Neuro-Oncology. An avid researcher, Dr. Mehta provides a multidisciplinary, innovative approach to individual care and helps all his patients understand their diagnosis, available treatment options and potential clinical trials

Michael Stephen Porrazzo, MD

Michael S. Porrazzo, M.D., is a board-certified radiation oncologist at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute. He has more than 30 years of experience utilizing radiation therapy to treat a wide range of cancers, including prostate, breast, head and neck, skin and lung. He has clinical expertise in stereotactic radiosurgery, intensity modulated radiotherapy, transperineal prostate implantation, mammosite breast radiotherapy, cardiovascular radiotherapy and interstitial brachytherapy. Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Porrazzo served as the medical director of radiation oncology and clinical assistant professor of radiation oncology at Beaufort Memorial New River Cancer Center in Okatie, S.C. Dr. Porrazzo earned his medical degree at Meharry Medical College in Nashville. He completed an internal medicine internship at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and a radiation oncology residency at SUNY- Health Science Center, State University Hospital in Brooklyn. As a clinician-educator, Dr. Porrazzo is committed to educating the next generation of healthcare professionals. He also contributes to the medical community as a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology. To help his patients make the best choices for their unique health situation, Dr. Porrazzo strives to put them at ease, prioritizes their goals and expectations and provides them with education and support.
