Hilary Shapiro-Wright, D.O., is a breast surgical oncologist at the Eugene M. & Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute and Christine E. Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute. Dr. Shapiro-Wright specializes in breast cancer surgery, high-risk breast pathology, benign breast disease, oncoplastic surgery and hidden scar surgery. She is certified in hidden scar breast surgery and practices a number of oncoplastic breast surgery techniques. These techniques help minimize a patient’s scarring, which can help them feel empowered to lead a more normal lifestyle after treatment and minimizes their mental and emotional scars. Dr. Shapiro-Wright is also trained in a procedure called ductoscopy, which evaluates breast nipple discharge. She joined the Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute and Lynn Cancer Institute from the Kettering Health Network and Kettering Cancer Care. Dr. Shapiro-Wright’s research has been published in several peer-reviewed publications, including JNCI Monographs, Breast Disease, Current Oncology Reports, Annals of Surgical Oncology and Gastroenterology. She was named the Cincinnati Top Doctor in Breast Surgery/Breast Cancer in Cincinnati Magazine from 2013 to 2020. She also serves on the board of directors for the Society of Oncoplastic Surgery and the editing board of the Journal of Oncoplastic Surgery. As a member of these boards, Dr. Shapiro-Wright helps educate other breast surgeons and physicians about oncoplastic and hidden scar surgery. Dr. Shapiro-Wright believes every patient should be treated with the highest level of care, dignity, compassion, kindness and respect. She works closely with patients to help them not only survive but thrive. When she is not treating patients, Dr. Shapiro-Wright enjoys spending time with her two daughters, being outdoors, traveling, sports, hiking, live concerts and music.

Rachel L. Slotcavage, M.D., M.Ed., FACS, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained endocrine surgeon at the Eugene M. and Christine E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University. Prior to joining Baptist Health, she was an endocrine surgeon and associate professor in the Division of Surgical Oncology and the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Dr. Slotcavage earned her medical degree at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and remained at the University of Pennsylvania to complete a postdoctoral research fellowship in musculoskeletal oncology. She performed her general surgery internship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Pennsylvania and completed residency at Cooper University Hospital in New Jersey, where she served as chief resident. Dr. Slotcavage found her passion in endocrine surgery and completed her subspecialty fellowship training in this area at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Dr. Slotcavage has published her research, including involvement with clinical trials, in peer-reviewed medical journals and has presented clinical and educationally focused work at national and international symposiums. She also contributes to the scientific community by serving as an editor and reviewer for several medical journals and a member and committee member of several professional organizations. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Patient education is important to Dr. Slotcavage. To enable her patients to make the best decisions about their healthcare, she spends time helping them understand the disease process and the rationale behind the recommended therapy. This helps patients feel more empowered and better able to cope with uncomfortable symptoms or frequent appointments for treatment. Dr. Slotcavage is an avid cyclist, participating in road, cyclocross, and gravel cycling. She is also an avid baseball fan. Samuel A. Kareff, M.D., MPH, is a medical oncologist and hematologist at the Eugene M. and Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. He is certified in internal medicine and hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Kareff specializes in the care of thoracic and gastrointestinal malignancies. Dr. Kareff serves as liaison to the Board of Directors of the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology and is a member of numerous professional organizations. Dr. Kareff earned a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health dual degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He completed his chief residency in internal medicine at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. and served as chief fellow during a hematology/medical oncology fellowship at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Kareff has published numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented scientific papers at professional symposiums. When it comes to patient care, Dr. Kareff focuses on the whole patient, not simply the disease.
