Carla C Rabassa, MD

Julia Bisschops, M.D., MSc, is a board-certified family medicine physician at Baptist Health Primary Care | FIU. She serves as a patient's primary point of contact for healthcare and provides services such as preventive care, diagnosis and treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, chronic disease management and medication management. In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Bisschops is an associate professor of medical education at FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Dr. Bisschops is fluent in English, Dutch and German.

Dollie Green, M.D., is a fellowship-trained nephrologist at Baptist Health Nephrology | FIU. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and specializes in the treatment of hypertension and chronic kidney disease. Dedicated to training the next generation of physicians, Dr. Green serves as associate professor of family and community medicine at FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. She participates in the Green Family Foundation NeighborhoodHELP household visits alongside students seeking medical, nursing, physician assistant and social work degrees. Her focus is on implementing a hypertension treatment program within NeighborhoodHELP to empower patients to better control their blood pressure. Dr. Green has contributed to the scientific community through her clinical research as well as through her publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and books. She is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Nephrology and the Association of Black Cardiologists. Dr. Green earned her medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Her clinical training includes an internal medicine residency, a diabetic kidney disease research fellowship and a hypertension and nephrology clinical fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Mich. To achieve the best outcomes for her patients, Dr. Green applies a patient-centered approach. She assists her patients in understanding their medical problems while at the same time empowering them to actively participate in their care. During her free time, Dr. Green enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as traveling to different countries with her family members.

Aymara Fernandez De La Vara, M.D., is a board-certified internal medicine physician at Baptist Health Primary Care | FIU. She has more than 10 years of experience providing comprehensive primary care. Her clinical interests include preventive medicine, chronic disease management, obesity medicine and geriatrics. In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Fernandez De La Vara serves as an assistant professor of internal medicine and teaches third-year medical students in the Internal Medicine Clerkship program at FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Dr. Fernandez De La Vara is fluent in English and Spanish.
