Benz Research & Development has been in existence for more than 20 years and focuses on developing technology and materials for the ophthalmic industry. The company is active in developing high performance contact lens and intraocular lens (IOL) materials as well as manufacturing technologies. It developed the first commercially available high quality bimodulus lens materials for both IOL and contact lens applications. It also introduced ILM2, the second generation of Integrated Lens Manufacturing System for fabrication of custom contact lenses, including toric designs. Benz Research & development manufactures 35 high performance contact lenses and materials and technologies that are important to the IOL manufacturers.
