TransAct Technologies, with its corporate headquarters located in Wallingford, Conn., designs, develops, assembles, markets and services transaction printers under the Epic and Ithaca brand names. Its impact, thermal and inkjet printers generate receipts, tickets, coupons, register journals and other documents. The company focuses on some core markets, including point-of-sale and banking, and gaming and lottery. TransAct sells its products to original equipment manufacturers, value-added resellers and selected distributors, as well as directly to endusers. Its product distribution spans across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Caribbean Islands and the South Pacific. TransAct has a strong focus on the aftermarket side of the business, including printer services, supplies and spare parts.
