Dr. Marco Christian Michael, who also has a bachelor of medical science with honours, is a board- certified psychiatrist with fellowship training in geriatric psychiatry, specializing in the diagnosis and management of mental conditions affecting older adults. Dr. Michael completed a double degree track – medical doctorate (MD) from Universitas Indonesia and an honours degree in biomedical sciences from Monash University, Australia. He completed psychiatry residency training at State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate in New York, where he served as PGY-4 and academic chief resident in his final year of residency training. Dr. Michael then completed geriatric psychiatry fellowship training at Weill Cornell Medicine/New York Presbyterian (NYP) Westchester Behavioral Health Center. During an initial visit, Dr. Michael performs a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, formulates a working mental health diagnosis, and collaborates with patients and their care partners towards an individualized treatment plan. This may include lifestyle modifications, psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, interventional psychiatry, or referral to specialized community programs. His advanced training instills hope in patients with difficult-to-treat mental health conditions, and/or those who have emerging conditions associated with complex medical comorbidities. Dr. Michael has published in peer-reviewed journals, co-authored textbook chapters, created didactic materials and self-evaluation questionnaires, and presented at national and international meetings on a range of topics, including geriatric psychiatry, psychotherapy, cultural psychiatry, psycho-oncology, and interventional psychiatry. He is the recipient of many awards, including the Association for Academic Psychiatry (AAP)'s Resident Psychiatric Educator Award and SUNY Downstate’s Resident Advocate of the Year Award.

Her clinical and research interests include integrative psychiatry, pediatric delirium, adolescent depression, relational psychodynamic psychotherapy and improving access to mental health care through quality and safety initiatives. She has served in multiple leadership roles, including Director of Quality Improvement in Psychiatry at Montefiore Medical Center and Director of Child Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison at UAB.As a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), Dr. Yoon currently co-chairs AACAP’s Asian Caucus and serves on its Diversity & Culture Committee. Fluent in Korean and English, she is passionate about culturally responsive care and reducing mental health disparities among immigrant and Asian-American families. Dr. Yoon is dedicated to empowering families and trainees alike with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate complex mental health systems. Her work integrates clinical excellence with a strong commitment to education, community outreach and systems-level change.
