The Society of California Pioneers, established in 1850, is a nonprofit organization devoted to preserving and celebrating early California history, culture, and art. Located in the vibrant Yerba Buena neighborhood of San Francisco, the society offers a wealth of resources for researchers and history enthusiasts.

At their new location on 300 Fourth Street, visitors can explore the Alice Phelan Sullivan Library, housing a vast collection of California history materials. Additionally, a dedicated programming room hosts lectures and events related to the society's extensive collection of artifacts, paintings, and photographs.

Membership is open to descendants of Californians prior to 1850, as well as individuals interested in supporting and engaging with the society's mission. Through funding from various sources, including the Judith McBean Foundation and the California State Library, The Society of California Pioneers continues to provide invaluable access to the unique history of California for present and future generations.

A little small museum pretty cute I love how it is free and you can also put a donation if you like. They have paintings, quilt, expensive old looking things like tiny gloves and a handbag....
