Sacramento County Sheriff Department

The Sacramento Sheriff's Department provides a spectrum of public safety services. It protects the lives and properties of people, preserves public peace and enforces laws. Located in Sacramento, Calif., the department has a special investigative bureau that investigates specific crimes, including state and federal gaming violations, prostitution-related offenses and solicitation for extortions. The Sacramento Sheriff's Department s correctional health unit administers legally mandated health services provided to adult inmates held within the county jail system. The department also has a narcotics investigation division that identifies, investigates and eradicates illegal drug organizations. The Sacramento Sheriff's Department additionally operates a domestic violence response team, child abuse bureau, forensic identification unit and bomb squad.
