Jerry Wood Massage

History

Jerry's path to a career in massage therapy began in 1998 when he enrolled in his first massage course at the Kalamazoo Center for the Healing Arts in Kalamazoo MI. After completing that course he moved to San Diego, CA and continued to pursue his budding interest in the healing arts by enrolling in the International Professional School of Bodywork. There he took a broad array of course work including: Tui Na and Structural Integration, in addition to the traditional curriculum of Swedish, Deep Tissue and Passive Joint Manipulation. In 2006, he enrolled in a clinical program at the Soma Institute where he acquired a more focused approach to massage therapy as well as postural assessment skills. With a deep love of learning, Jerry has continued his education both in massage therapy and traditional education. Since passing the NCBTMB certification test in 2007, which earned him his IL massage therapy license, he has gone on to take coursework in Thai massage and Rossiter Stretching.
