Spanish Summer Camp
HistoryElementary school children are very eager to learn a second or foreign language. They will tell you a few words in Spanish, French, etc. To fulfill these motivations and learning gaps, our Spanish teachers decided to implement a curriculum and program as a Spanish Boot Camp. Over the years, those monolingual kids have transitioned to fully bilingual adolescents by participating in our program.SpecialtiesAt Palm Valley School, campers will learn Spanish through games, songs, outdoor play, hands-on activities, arts and crafts, and performances. A weekly Spanish project will be implemented to enhance their conversation, grammar, listening, writing, and reading skills. Teachers will engage with campers bilingually, one-on-one, and in small groups. Method: Experiential and communicative to improve the kid's conversational skills towards fluency. Media: Face-to-face using Spanish in the kid's real-life environment: family, animals, pets, school, etc. Materials: textbook, workbook, audios, and videos according to the Spanish curriculum and program. Resources: Unlimited access to the Spanish e-learning platform, bilingual dictionaries, translators, and verb conjugators. Internet usage: reliable and secured internet service from the Palm Valley School Wifi system.
