Gina N. Woods, MD

Elina Kari, MD is a board-certified head and neck surgeon and neurotologist based in San Diego, CA. With expertise in treating ear and hearing problems in both adults and children, Dr. Kari specializes in conditions such as ear infections, perforated eardrums, cholesteatoma, otosclerosis, and acoustic neuroma. She also evaluates patients for cochlear implants and other hearing devices. As an assistant professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Kari is actively involved in training medical students, residents, and fellows. She has conducted research on pediatric hearing loss and cochlear implants, and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

Dr. Kari completed her medical degree at the University of Michigan Medical School and her fellowship training in neurotology and otology at the House Ear Institute in Los Angeles. Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, she served as the principal pediatric ear surgeon at the University of Southern California Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. Kari is a member of the American Neurotology Society and the American Academy of Otolaryngology. Outside of work, she enjoys running, reading, photography, and travel.
