College of San Mateo was among the first community colleges in San Mateo County, Calif., offering various degree, certificate and transfer courses. The college offers comprehensive educational programs and services to students through various academic departments, including accounting, art history, business, cosmetology, horticulture, music, English and speech communications. It also provides corporate and continuing education programs in business writing, accounting fundamentals, computers, environmental safety, foreign languages, project management and programming languages. College of San Mateo offers various student services, including career counseling, child development center, cooperative education, tutorial, placement testing and international students program. It is recognized by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
