Chatom Vineyards, located in the picturesque Esmeralda Valley of the Sierra Foothills in Calaveras County, was established in 1980 by Gay Callan, a native San Franciscan. Initially planted with 21 acres of Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc in 1981, the vineyard has since expanded to 65 acres, cultivating 13 varietals including popular grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, and Syrah.

Now celebrating over four decades of estate-grown, award-winning fruit, Chatom Vineyards continues to honor its roots while showcasing a diverse array of wines representative of the region. The vineyard blends a rich history of low field crops and nut trees with the artistry of modern winemaking.
