Needed a wheel truing for a brand new bike. Called and emailed several of the shops in Alameda and only Barry from Changing Gears responded with a "usually on the spot" timeframe to get it fixed....

Formerly Cycles of Change, Changing Gears Community Bike Shop is is a non-profit community bike shop located at the former naval air station. Its mission is to empower local communities by offering recycled bicycle services that are safe, vibrant, creative, and self-sustaining.
Changing Gears sells used bicycles and has a full-service repair shop. It also provides paid job training for formerly homeless adults as well as earn-a-bike opportunities for youth and adults. Changing Gears accepts donations of bikes and bike parts.
