The California Gourd Society, a non-profit charitable organization, is dedicated to the cultivation, education, and fabrication of hard shell gourds. Comprised of 12 satellite Regional Gourd Groups and approximately 300 members, CGS works in conjunction with the American Gourd Society to promote gourd enthusiasm and preserve the history and future of hard shell gourds.

With a mission to support the growing, creativity, and appreciation of hard shelled gourds, CGS provides charitable and educational activities to members, growers, artists, crafters, business people, and the public through community support and education. Volunteers of all skill levels are welcome to get involved, and youth aged 17 and younger can participate in CGS competitions at no charge.
