Affordable Housing Access, Inc.

The Foundation Social Resources, Inc ( FSR ) is a 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) non-profit organization established in 1988 whose mission is to create, acquire, rehabilitate and preserve affordable housing for rent or for sale to low and moderate income persons and the elderly. The Foundation's Board Members are experts in the fields of affordable real estate finance, entitlement, management, development, construction and ownership. The staff is comprised of a diverse group of professionals who have substantial experience in the production and management of all types of low and moderate income housing. From working extensively with tax-exempt bonds and low-income housing tax credits, they understand both public and private financing sources plus the many social and financial complexities facing residents, developers, lenders, underwriters, nonprofit corporations and housing agencies. This experience was acquired through the cumulative generation of over 30, 000 dwelling units, producing approximately 20, 000 deed restricted rental units for low income tenants. Working in concert with the public sector and profit-motivated developers to revitalize communities the Foundation, and it's related organization Affordable Housing Access, Inc, has ownership or beneficial interests in approximately 18, 000 dwelling units in over 100 separate housing communities. The Foundation has received commendations for its contributions to low-income, special needs families by the Fountain Valley Hospital, Human Options and UCI's Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center ; for its contributions to education by the Rowland Heights and Santa Ana Unified School Districts ; for its contributions to low-income housing by the State of Hawaii and the cities of Santa Ana, Garden Grove and Westminster. In 1994 the Foundation was pleased to be the recipient of the Mortgage Banker's Association of America's Affordable Housing Award in the Rental Housing Production category. In addition to its work in affordable rental housing, the organization has been an active participant in HUD's single family disposition program since 1998. During this time and in one of the least affordable housing markets in the country, the Foundation has acquired, rehabilitated and sold at affordable prices 40 single family homes to families below median income in Southern California. The organization also leads in establishing partnerships with profit-motivated developers and non-profit service providers to create on-site programs tailored to the needs of the residents of our communities. The Foundation provides major support to Project Access, Inc. whose programming includes everything from school readiness, health initiatives, tutoring and homework assistance, workforce initiation programs that include English as a Second Language, to computer skills and job placement.
