During the mid-1980s, an indoor swimming pool was built at the Mariner Square Athletic Club. At that time, the racquetball courts were also converted into fitness centers and the snack bar was converted into a full functioning cafe. The club offers a variety of aqua aerobic classes and more than 40 group exercise classes weekly. Specialty classes such as yoga, Pilates, tai chi and karate are offered at no addition cost to its members. Mariner Square Athletic Club Mariner Square Athletic Club was built in 1978, and originally went by the name of Supreme Courts. During those early years the club was a racquetball club, which housed Nautilus of Alameda.
