First Christian Church

In February of 1964 First Christian Church, Scottsdale, Arizona became part of a faith journey that began on American shores shortly after the American Revolution in 1809. It was the hope during those early years to restore the spirit of Christ as authority in the church instead of demanding submission to councils, creeds, or ecclesiastical hierarchies. When the history of any church is written, it becomes very clear that long before buildings are built or programs are started, there are people. Indeed their ministry and presence are remembered through the 43 years since the founding of First Christian Church, Scottsdale, Arizona (Disciples of Christ ). Certainly, this church has been an extension of family and has given opportunity to serve God through teaching, fellowship mission and Worship. May God hold us as we move toward new vision in anticipation of greater blessings always striving to serve and glorify God!
