Car Colston, England NG13 8JE
The picturesque village of Car Colston has 29 acres of village greens and is believed to be the largest rural common in England. The building of The Royal Oak is about two hundred years old and is thought by some to have been a hosiery factory hence the rather unusual vaulted brick ceiling in the bar which certainly would have carried the weight of the appropriate textiles machinery above.Richard & Vicky are members of the British Institute of Innkeeping. With Vicky offering her delicious culinary delights from the kitchen & Richard behind the bar with his fantastic tasting Cask Marque approved traditional real ales you are sure of a warm welcome and enjoyable experience but look out for the reported ghost of a Roman Centurion roaming the building.
