The Tallinn Russian Museum has been a branch of the Tallinn City Museum since 2016. The museum creates and maintains a common cultural space of different nationalities, mediating and valuing the national diversity of local historical heritage and modern culture. The museum is open to understanding the multiplicity of estonian-russian identity through dialogue, discussion and self-expression. The program of exhibitions and activities is prepared in the course of co-creation between the museum and Russian-speaking ethnic minorities, interest-based communities and their representatives. The museum is located in the old town of Tallinn, in a medieval building called the Nottbeck House after its former owners at Pikk 29A, which is known in Estonian cultural history as the first location of the Ants Laikmaa studio school in 1903.
