A beautifully appointed Victorian log house in a tranquil woodland setting by the Gatineau River, only 20 minutes from downtown Ottawa and Gatineau. All our rooms and common areas have the charm of a 19th century home - just as Buckhouse was when it was built in the year of Canada's confederation, 1867. Our period-style rooms can be booked individually or the entire house can be reserved for your private use. Rooms include the prestigious log-walled Marguerite room with a private balcony; our Gladys suite large pine-panelled main room overlooking forest an annex (kids) room and private entrance; Jessie, with views over woods and en suite bathroom; and two smaller rooms, Ida and Charlotte with twin beds or king bed, and shared full bath. Breakfast is served in the dining room around a convivial table. Guests are invited to stroll through the woodland setting, along the banks of the Gatineau River and to enjoy seasonal use of the river - whether cross-country skiing, walking, or boating and swimming from our private swimming area. Rooms are available with luxury quality twin, queen or king sized beds. Coffee and tea are available at all times, wifi is free, and television is available in all rooms. Guests are also welcome to use the games and books and make themselves comfortable in the lovely common areas and garden.
