Zen Centre of Ottawa
The White Wind Zen Community, founded in 1985, is dedicated to the practice and teaching of Dogen's Zen, centered at the Zen Centre of Ottawa and comprising a monastic core, associate members, and public students. Known initially as White Wind Zazenkai, it provides an environment for rigorous study, training, and the cultivation of meditation practices through various programs, including retreats and the Long Distance Training Program.
Under the guidance of Ven. Anzan Hoshin roshi and his successors, the community fosters engagement with its Dharma through regular sittings, educational workshops, and the sharing of teisho, enhancing both communal and individual practice. With branch centers in Guelph, Nova Scotia, and Harrow, England, the community provides resources and opportunities for practitioners globally to partake in Zen training, regardless of their location.
