The Metchosin Museum Society, located on the traditional lands of the Sc'ianew Cheanuh Beecher Bay First Nation, oversees the Metchosin Schoolhouse Museum and the Metchosin Pioneer Museum. Dedicated to honoring the forebears who settled in this part of Vancouver Island, the society preserves the history of Metchosin's early days as part of the Hudson Bay Company fur trading territory known as New Caledonia.
With a focus on showcasing the pioneer life and coastal history of the region, the society operates two museums: the Pioneer Museum, open year-round on Sundays, and the Schoolhouse Museum, open seasonally on weekends. Through these museums, the Metchosin Museum Society aims to share the rich heritage of the area with visitors and locals alike.
