History

Mary Schmitt, the owner of Cayuse, started buying and selling western antiques in 1989, mostly as therapy toward an unrewarding corporate job in high-tech marketing. It quickly turned into a full-time occupation when Mary made the decision to leave the corporate world. She relocated to Jackson Hole in 1997 and opened the gallery on North Glenwood Street.
