History

The Purple Turtle was started in the spring of 2016 in the lower level of the same building we are currently in. The building was built in 1914 and wasn't converted to retail until the 90's. It was the former home of Mississippi Pearl, now located in Alma, WI. It also spent 25 years as a pottery shop before the owner decided to retire from running a store. The Purple Turtle still carries Stockholm Pottery alongside many other talented artists.

So glad I found this great local artist shop. The owner was so helpful in telling me about how to use the snippets of yarn. Very inspiring. Lots of pottery, fiber art, jewelry, just about everything.
