The Flying Hound Alehouse

The Free House Pub is located in the historic American Hotel building in downtown Middleton. The term "Free House" is a generic English term meaning that the pub is not "tied" to a specific brewery as was required in England until the law changed then allowing pubs to sell beer from a variety of breweries. The Free House Pub features 16 draft lines serving a wide spectrum of local and seasonal craft beers. In addition, the Free House Pub offers one of the widest arrays of whiskies in the Madison area along with a strong wine list and an excellent variety of craft cocktails. In terms of menu, the Free House Pub is hyper focused on locally sourced ingredients for its carefully prepared upscale pub fare. The Free House Pub is comprised of three distinct but attached buildings. The historic American Hotel building and the "back" buildings have been completely renovated while a new bar building was erected to attach the two. The Free House Pub also features a beautiful patio that seats over 60 people adding to the capacity of over 100 inside. The Free House Pub's mission is to provide an extensive local beer selection, an outstanding facility, excellent service and to feature local the finest local ingredients in order to provide an all-around satisfying pub experience.
