A former barber in Madison, Fred Rouse started asking customer's about their knowledge in the real estate industry. After 19 years of cutting hair, Rouse left barbering altogether in 1980. At first he bought existing buildings and then in 1985 he turned to developing. Today he has full or partial ownership of over 900 apartment units in Madison.
