Plymouth is a loving congregation on Eau Claire's west side founded in 1885 as Second Congregational Church. In 1957, we covenanted with many other congregations around the United States and formed a brand new denomination: United Church of Christ. At that time, we changed our name to Plymouth United Church of Christ. In 1995, we built a modern handicapped-accessible structure in a beautiful and secluded wooded lot on Moholt Drive. In 2007, after twelve years of saving money and worshiping in the fellowship room, we built ( and completely paid for ) our long-anticipated sanctuary and held our first worship service in it on Easter Day, April 8, 2007. In addition to Sunday worship and Sunday school, we have a Tuesday morning Bible Study, youth group, Wednesday evening Lenten services and soup suppers, movie nights, game nights, quilters who make wonderful quilts to give away to Western Dairyland, a women's fellowship, ministry to shut-ins and the sick, support of St. Francis Food Pantry and Community Table, summer Vacation Bible School, activities for children, outings to local restaurants and shows, a summer pie and ice cream social, thrift sale, a Christmas Bazaar, and sell our amazingly delicious and incredible baked goods on election days ( we're a polling place ). And, of course, the wonderful pot lucks and good fellowship.
