Employment & Economic Assistance is a department of Dakota County in Minnesota, which was founded in 1849 and spreads across an area of more than 590 square miles. The department administers various financial assistance programs and provides support for residents to help them achieve and maintain economic self-sufficiency. It offers a child care assistance program for children and low-income families. Through Dakota-Scott Counties Workforce Centers, the department provides employment and training services to economically disadvantaged youths and adults who are the residents of Dakota and Scott counties in Minnesota. Employment & Economic Assistance offers a range of medical and health care solutions, as well as helps people to purchase food. The department also maintains several housing units.

Eau Claire County Department of Human Services provides state and federally mandated human services to the most vulnerable and needy residents of Eau Claire County. Its programs serve abused and neglected children and adults; adults and children with mental illnesses; adults and children with developmental disabilities; youth offenders; adults and children with alcohol and other drug problems; and children, youths and adults in need of residential and institutional care. The department also works for the care and treatment of frail, elderly and physically disabled individuals. It operates an employment and economic resource unit that administers the administers the Wisconsin Works, Food Share and Badger Care programs, and offers medical, child care and energy assistance.
