Lemke Stone, Inc a family owned company, was founded in 1965 by Arnold A. Lemke. Arnold and his sons, Mark and Kim have dedicated their efforts to provide a higher level of quality and personal service to all of their customers. It all began after Arnie Lemke worked 9 years for a local stone company that he decided to go into business for himself, called Arnie Lemke Stone Company. Arnie first started delivering fieldstone straight from a gravel pit near Steven's Point, Wisconsin. After gaining a customer base Arnie started stock piling his fieldstone at another local stone company. When the time was right he purchased 3 acres of land in Lannon, WI which is now currenlty the home of our retail and fieldstone location. For the next 37 years he and his wife Peggy ran a business of trucking stone locally to landscape and masonry jobs and yards throughout the Midwest. Arnie and Peggy prided themselves on making sure the company provided quality products with exceptional customer service. Arnie's sons Kim and Mark came to work with them in the mid 70's producing and delivering stone. In 1986 Arnie and sons purchased an abondoned Lannon stone quarry on the west end of Lannon. They built a 10, 000 sq ft saw shop with a hydro splitter and 2 diamond blade saws. They added experienced stone cutters to quarry and manufacture custom Lannon stone products. In 1996 Kim and Mark bought out Arnie and renamed the company to Lemke Stone, Inc Arnie continued to work for the company. In 2000 Arnie finally retired at the age of 70. After taking over the company Kim and Mark have added 6, 000 sq ft to the west location to house an additional 2 diamond blade saws. In addition they have also added a tumbler and thin veneer machine to meet the needs of the customers. The 3rd generation is currently learning the business and gaining experience. Kim's son Jason worked throughout high school part time and now has worked full time for the past 8 years. Mark's daughter Sarah worked part-time throughout high school and college for 7 years. Currenlty Lemke Stone has 13 full time and 4 part time employees who are dedicated to continuing the tradition of quality products and service. Our goal at Lemke Stone continues to focus on quality stone products and personalized service just as Arnold established 35 years ago.
