After completing his fellowship in Otology in California, Dr. Millen returned to his home state of Wisconsin and established a private practice in the specialty of Otology and Neurotology in 1979. He was the first physician in the State of Wisconsin to complete a fellowship in ear diseases and surgery and became the first physician in Wisconsin to establish a medical practice that limited itself to disorders of the ear. Since establishing his practice in 1979, he has seen over 27,000 new patients whose complaints are ear related. He has been active as an educator of physicians in training and held a position as an associate professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He has pursued an active interest in ear research and has lectured throughout the country and has published numerous articles on the diagnosis and treatment of ear disorders.
